My Background

I am passionate about supporting people who are struggling, and helping them to develop insight into their lives. I hold the CPCAB Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, a qualification which has enabled me to work with  people who are struggling with a variety of difficult experiences and feelings. Our work together has led to them developing a deeper understanding of what has been going on for them, which has in turn allowed them to recognise and acknowledge their needs, and to feel more positive in life.

I am a registered member of the BACP, meaning I abide by their guidelines and code of ethics during my work with clients.

I have experience of helping clients with a number of challenges, including:

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Abuse and childhood trauma

  • Medical diagnoses

  • Relationship difficulties and breakdowns

  • Difficulties relating to sexuality and  gender identity

  • Bereavement and Loss

  • Suicidal thoughts

  • Self harm

If you would like to know anything more about how I could support you, please get in touch.

My Approach

Finding a counsellor can be daunting, especially when life feels overwhelming. At some point, most people will have to face difficult and painful circumstances – and it can be beneficial to seek support to help process those experiences. I work with my clients in a way which provides them with a space they can rely upon for safety, care and respect. This allows them to explore their difficulties and improve their well-being, as they gain more insight into their lives.

I can offer you Integrative counselling, an approach which uses Psychodynamic and Person-Centred theories to provide you with deeply empathic support whilst you process your experiences. During our sessions together,  I would work to develop a strong therapeutic relationship with you, providing you with a non-judgemental and safe environment to encourage and enable your healing. I know that you are the expert of your life,  and so would support you in processing your experiences and what they mean to you, always inviting and encouraging your insights and feelings into our space. I work in a non-directive way, at your pace.
